Posted on February 27, 2007February 28, 2007 By sweet surrender 12 Comments on Any Taker To Borneo Highlands?

Update: YAY! Finally booked the trip! *HAPPY* So will be off for holiday at Borneo Highlands this Saturday and Sunday. Stay tune for updates!!! By the way, this is their site http://www.borneohighlands.com.my

YOOOO!!! Borneo Highlands is having a promotion for Chap Goh Meh now. It’s so affordable. You can’t get this kind of price on any other days. Pssstt… You want to go? I might be able to get a bit of discount from the promotion price, no guarantee but maybe. Still the price is so affordable. RM298 for 1 person and the 2nd will be staying for free. Put it in other words, 2 persons for RM298 inclusive of taxes and all the meals and tours for 2 days 1 night. Click picture below for more details.

By the way, this is not a paid post. I posted this because I want to go but I need to find 2 more people. If not I can’t go 🙁 Must tell me earlier so that I can book soon. The trip is this Saturday and Sunday.

I didn’t take much photos last night and didn’t really mingle around too. I only stayed put at my seat and didn’t move until it’s time to go home. Not really in the mood really as something made me upset yesterday before the meet.

Ivan, Mike, Frankie, and Grace reached there about 7.30pm. Then at about 8.30pm or so, more and more coming but I only manage to know Alex. Only greeted Anna but didn’t talk to her.

Basically in this post, I’ll be posting some candid shoots and come out with some funny(or not funny at all) captions. No offence ok? Just for fun. Feel free to share your creativity with us.

Alex: Ahh~~ Duckie!
UnkerHo: Not this duck again?
Alex: I want take photo with it. *pose, Tarlia takes photo*
UnkerHo: This say kia(kids in Hokkien), really no respect one. Treat me like I’m invisible.

Left:
Anna busy with her mobile phone. Ann spotted me taking photo. The rest mind their own business.
Right:
Grace: Frank, Frank, Irene takes photo.*smile*
Frank: I’m busy… Hmmm…

Left:
Jimmy: I’m sleepy…
Frank: Hmmm…
Right:
Camwhore time! I’m not sure who is the girl in orange. She accompanied Anna to the meet.
This is the first time I showed up at the meet without makeup :p Hahahah…

Left:
Alex and Robin were so happy because I took their photos 😛
Right:
UnkerHo: Cannot do this arrr Ken, cannot do that arrr… *nag nag nag*
Grace: OOooOoo…
Frank: Hmmm…
Ken: *Scratch eyebrow*

That’s all for the meet. You notice something in the photo? Frank was so engrossed with his camera. Hahaha…
To anyone… Send me photos that have me ok?

Oregano

Posted on February 25, 2007March 7, 2008 By sweet surrender 7 Comments on Oregano

Went to Oregano at Travillion for the bloggers’ meet last night. I will blog about it later. Will talk about the food and drinks first.

This is my third time there I guess… Can’t recall. The drinks were super duper sweet!!! Man… I think their sugar is FREE! Last time weren’t that bad *shrug*

Blue Travillion (RM7.80), it’s one of the mocktails available. Jimmy ordered this. SWEET SWEET SWEET!

Left: Caramel Milk Shake(RM7.80). I ordered this. Aiyooo.. Why so sweet? Really… As if the sugar is free.
Right: Oregano Chicken(price N/A), it’s ordered by Alex. According to Kenjj and Alex, it’s nothing to rave about and portion was super small.

Most of us got bitten by mosquitoes. Seemed like the mosquitoes were having a big feast last night 😛

1st Bomb of 2007

Posted on February 24, 2007March 21, 2007 By sweet surrender 13 Comments on 1st Bomb of 2007

OMG! Pressure is really on! My childhood friend, also my best friend, Lilian, had sent me a bomb! This is the first bomb of 2007. More to come this year but I guess it will not be as much as last year. See… See… Pressure… Pressure… Suddenly got her dinner invitaion today.

I didn’t even know she had registered last year September until I called her just now to ask her what time she wants me to go over that morning as she asked me to go over. Her house is just a few shops away from mine. Her custom wedding ceremony will be on 1st March 2007. I will be there to take photos again hahaha… This means I have to wake up early in the morning as the groom will arrive before 7am. Not sure my camera’s battery can last till the end of the ceremony or not(-_-“). It’s such a short notice. Hmm… I think I might need to borrow a camera just in case.

Wedding post coming soon… Before that, here’s a list of wedding posts that I posted last year:

Sharing Planet

Posted on February 23, 2007February 24, 2007 By sweet surrender 10 Comments on Sharing Planet

People had been talking about this place for years and I always never have the chance to pay a visit because it’s very out of the way and situated in quite a seclude area. Even many locals not sure how to go there. Actually I wanted to go there for our previous gathering but it was closed. -.-” It’s not actually, it’s opened. Sharing Planet is close on every Wednesday not Tuesday, strange… I saw the signboard stated Tuesday not Wednesday *shrug* hahahah…

Finally… Finally the chance is here! We were supposed to have gathering with some net friends last night but suddenly everyone couldn’t go. So… Only left Jimmy, Pinky and me. However, it didn’t hamper our mood, we went and decided to feast on the food there. It’s really not easy to locate. The cafe is not visible. All you see when you reach there is a lighted signboard and a signboard with opening hours. You have to walk to the right side of the huge detach house and use the plank bridge to go into the cafe. You will be greeted by lush green lanscape with lots of bonsais, I heard that some of the bonsais cost more than ten thousands Ringgit. Beware of mosquitoes 😛 I do not recommend those who attract mosquitoes to go there. However, when you are in the cafe, you won’t get mosquito bites as mosquito quails are place under each table. You can choose to sit facing the pond or facing the plants. The place is quite dark at night but pretty romantic hahaha…

Left: The menu. They have huge variety of food and drinks. *SLURP* Our strategy for the night was to order 1 or 2 dish each and then we share all of them. After that, we split the cost. This is a good way to try out food with friends without blowing your budget.
Right: Carrot Milk(RM4.80) and Mango Smoothies(RM7.80). OMG!! The Mango Smoothies was damn thick! WOW… The sweetness was just right, no sugar I think… Yummy… It’s made from real mango!!! With real mango cubes! Heavenly! Love it! Besides, they claim that their fruit juice are free from sugar and water, 100% pure fruit juice!

Left: So cute!!! Hot chocolate(RM4.80). See the pig there? Hehehe… CUTE!!!
Right: Fried Calamari(RM6.80). Sorry but I have to give two thumbs down for this. Over fried and it’s tough.

Left: Creamy Wild Mushroom Shitake (RM3.80). If you order a main course, then you can get this at RM1 off. This is super recommended! THICK! Very THICK! Guarantee you’ll not regret it. They claim that it’s traditional fresh puree of mixed mushroom soup.
Right: Seafood Arabiatta (RM11.80), tomato gravy with mussel, calamari, shrimp and dory fish fried with olive oil. Very nice too.

Tuna Caesar Salad (RM7.80) serves with mayonnaise dressing. It has Romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, capsicums, celery, tuna, turkey ham, and parmesan cheese. I don’t really like salad served with mayonnaise. If you like mayonnaise, then it’s really recommended. The portion was so HUGE!!!

Mixed Grill (RM23.80) is a combination of chicken, lamb shoulder, dory fish and sausages, served with daily vegetables and mashed potatoes or potato wedges with black pepper sauce. Goodness gracious, this was SUPER HUGE!!! Really worth it! You can share this with 2-3 friends. The photo on the left is how it looks like after Pinky dissected them hehehe… The lamb was 70% cooked -.-” It’s my first time eating lamb that is 70% cooked. Actually we wanted our sirloin steak to be 70% cooked but I think they had mixed up on that part. It’s all right, they tasted delicious! Recommended!!! Recommended!!!

Left: Charbroiled Sirloin Steak (RM17.80), selected part from the loin section grilled to your liking, served with mashed potatoes and daily vegetables with black pepper sauce. This was supposed to be 70% cooked became 100% cooked. It was a bit of bummer but it’s all right. Still tasted great and those super huge portion of the food we ordered gave us a big shock.
Right: At first only the 3 of us and we couldn’t finish our Mixed Grill. Luckily a net friend, QQ, manage to join us and we got him to finish them off. He ordered a glass of Apple Juice(RM4.80) but I forgot to take photo of it.
Right: Pinky, me, Jimmy and QQ. The satisfied and full diners. Hahahah…

Our total bill of the night was RM93.00. Very affordable right? I really recommend this place. I want to go again 😛 provided we get to share food like this. Really worth it. I was FULL last night!

Here’s the map to Sharing Planet, it’s at Stapok. There are only 2 ways to get there, either by your own transport or taxi.

Here’s their website where you can view their menu, http://www.sharing-planet.com.

RECOMMENDED! MUST GO!
