‘4×4 Dakar Rally Experience’ in Kuching

Posted on March 18, 2011March 19, 2011 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on ‘4×4 Dakar Rally Experience’ in Kuching

Found out about The Mitsubishi ‘4×4 Dakar Rally Experience’ last week from the fellow bloggers. I decided to join the media preview. In fact I didn’t know what was going on and so on, I just submitted my name *LOL*

Mitsubishi Motor Malaysia (MMM) is proud to present for the first time ever – the ‘4×4 Dakar Rally Experience’, here in Kuching! The event will take place at Travillion Kuching from 19th -20th March 2011 (Sat-Sun), 9am-9pm.

The one holding the microphone is the CEO of Mitsubishi Malaysia, Mr. Tetsuya Oda. The one sitting on the second right is Dakar Rally Champion from Japan– Hiroshi Masuoka.

Left: Malcolm explaining something I think… I didn’t pay attention! 😛

Right: Sherrie and I camwhored while waiting for our turn to go on high speed taxi ride with Hiroshi Masuoka.

After the press conference, we got the chance to experience high speed taxi ride with Hiroshi Masuoka in Pajero. You will get your chance also if you go over to Travillion Kuching tomorrow or Sunday.

Admission is free and members of the public are encouraged to pre-register their interest (especially for test drive with the Champion) to avoid disappointment. Please contact Mr. Wen at 012 or 082-457810 or email: wen@jimisar.com.my for more information.

A video I took while having the ride in a Pajero:

Left: I was so clumsy LOL. Supposed to camwhore with Hiroshi immediately after the ride but the new camera strap got in my way, wasn’t used to it, then I forgot to change the setting, it was in video. Really clumsy. At the end, the staff there offer to help take the picture. Hair was a mess after taking off the helmet.

Right: Triton in action. I took the ride twice, first time with Pajero, second time with Triton. The later was more powerful but it’s not that extreme because of the make shift track. It’s not meant to be for rally anyway. That’s the best you can get in the city centre. What do you expect? This is enough to give us newbies a taste of how rally is.

Second round, in Triton, ok… Ignore the squel or anything, it was just for fun, it wasn’t that scary really:

To some it’s extreme enough for them, to me, too mild. All I know was that the helmet was too big for me ;p

Since I didn’t know what was it all about, I didn’t expect to go on a ride in it, I wore my heels! Great! Such bimbo hahaha… Got my heels and my foot stucked in the mud when I got down from the car. So funny.

After lunch, Malcolm took us on a ride in the Pajero, also ignore the random conversation hahaha…:

Left: 48 degree if I recall correctly instead of 45 degree. I didn’t tilt my camera. That’s my view from inside the car.

Right: Pajeros and Tritons that are awaiting you to go for a ride starting tomorrow and Sunday.

If you have you intend to take a ride, if you have your own helmet, it’s best to bring your own ;p

Have fun!

Hi Irene, ha ha, I like you, just jumping in without checking.
But I bet it was fun, huh? High speed sliding, skidding
    and high speed thrills.
I watch the real Dakar rally every year, the real ones, really exciting, not many make it though.
    Have fun, Lee.

uncle lee, yes hehehe… It’s not an easy feat to make it, and having the champion to give you the ride, it’s not something you can get everyday. It’s quite a cool experience 😉

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
