The Best Job in the World

Posted on January 18, 2009January 18, 2009 By sweet surrender 4 Comments on The Best Job in the World

First of all, this is not paid. It’s just something I came across that caught my attention and it’s really interesting. Have you heard of the job called The Caretaker of the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef. This is the best job in the world!

Why?
– You only need to work for 6 months and get a 6-figure income!
– You are going to be based on luxurious Hamilton Island in the Great Barrier Reef.
– Flexible working hours.
– Update weekly blogs, photo diary, video updates to report back to the Tourism Queensland and the world, attend ongoing media interviews to promote the island.

OM MY! It’s so interesting. You are qualified to apply if you have these skills:
– Excellent interpersonal communication skills
– Good written and verbal English skills
– An adventurous attitude
– Willingness to try new things
– A passion for the outdoors
– Good swimming skills and enthusiasm for snorkelling and/or diving
– Ability to engage with others
– At least one year’s relevant experience

It has attracted more than 300 applicants from all over the world if I’m not mistaken until the website was down due to the overwhelming responses. Who doesn’t? I’m interested too but I don’t have most of the skills above and so many applicants! How to compete with them? Nevertheless, this job is definitely a job that many people dream of.

You get to see videos of the applicants and they are quite amusing. All sort of people apply for it. As if an online reality show.

6 months only with 6 figures salary and live luxuriously on this beautiful island. How cool is that!??! Hey! If you are interested, why don’t go apply for it then let us know and we vote for you hehehe…

Tri-Garden Hot Pot Steamboat

Posted on January 17, 2009January 19, 2009 By sweet surrender 6 Comments on Tri-Garden Hot Pot Steamboat

Went for steamboat dinner with my family last night. Supposed to just have simple dinner by ordering dishes there as there’s 10% discount with My Privilege Book. Then last minute changed plan and ordered their steamboat. Who can resist right? With such cold weather.

So we ordered Big Bone Soup(RM5) for the steamboat base. The soup is quite nice. They gave 3 types of condiments, sesame oil, belacan, and chili oil. I like the chili oil, it’s not that spicy (at least to me). The belacan was quite spicy. As for the sesame oil, didn’t touch at all.

Fish Ball(RM4) and Vegetable Set(RM8).

Lamb Slice (RM10), Chicken Slice (RM6), and Beef Slice (RM10). The beef slice is a bit too tough. The white part was so tough, couldn’t eat those. Felt a bit wasted ordered the beef slice.

Ordered two drinks and two bowls of rice. Total spent last night was RM44+ for 4 of us with 10% off for the food.

The place is not stuffy and quite clean. Prices are quite reasonable and I will go back again next time. Oh… They only open at night but close on 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month.

It’s located at Padungan, somewhere opposite of Tao.

Kenyalang CNY Bazaar 2009

Posted on January 15, 2009January 15, 2009 By sweet surrender 8 Comments on Kenyalang CNY Bazaar 2009

Went to Kenyalang last night because the weather was so good! So good till so hard to find parking and many people because most people were stranded few days back and could only managed to come out now but who knows when we were there for about half hour, WAH! HEAVY RAIN! -.-” Everyone gave a long sigh when it rained. It was quite funny. However, it rained for a while only. Then it stopped. People were less by then coz the rain scared them away hehehe…

OK… Let’s just see some photos that I took last night:

Before rain.

After rain.

We didn’t buy many things and it was funny to get those shopkeepers wondering why we were buying them in small amount *LOL* No point to buy many, no one will eat except ourselves and some of them we bought to eat now, not for CNY ;p

Simple Peanut Butter Cookies

Posted on January 14, 2009January 14, 2009 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Simple Peanut Butter Cookies

Finally I bake something! Actually I found the recipe online few days back and since it’s so easy to do, I decided to try it. The ingredients are so easy to get, why not? As usual, I just don’t know how to follow a recipe, I always stray. I added flour to this recipe that doesn’t required flour at all and reduced the sugar too. If flour isn’t added, you won’t be able to do much and I bet the texture will not be the same also.

Ingredients:
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup flour
1/2 cup castor sugar
1 large egg

Steps:

  1. Mix peanut butter, flour, and sugar.
  2. Add in the egg and mix them.
  3. The dough is done when it doesn’t stick to your hand.
  4. Make a ball and press it with a fork to form the pattern.
  5. Preheat the oven at 350 degree Celcius.
  6. Bake it for 8-10 minutes with the temperature of 350 degree Celcius or until you think it’s cooked.
  • Just mix manually you don’t have to use mixer.
  • You can skip the cup if you have baking sheet. I ran out of baking sheet.
  • For cup, use the same cup for all the ingredients. If you are using a big cup, then all the other ingredients are to be measured with the same cup or cups of the same size. If small cup, then do the same also.
  • Any type of peanut butter can be used, if you use lousy peanut butter, then it will taste lousy also.

It’s so simple and make less mess. Try it out. You can try the original recipe which doesn’t need flour. You can find the original recipe here.

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
