The food court at Hills Shopping Mall is called Food Inc. I thought it’s a very big one but my oh my… It’s quite small and there were still many empty stalls for rent.
Anyway, the reason I was there was to try out the Japan Boat Takoyaki. I read quite a number of good reviews in forums about it. So I decided to try it out since it’s been quite awhile not having takoyaki. Quite miss it.
Japan Boat Takoyaki is actually orginated from Sabah. We bought 2 boxes for RM6, if only 1 box, then it’s RM3.50.
You get a box of 3 takoyaki. You can choose original or with wasabi. No extra charge for wasabi. We bought one box of original and wasabi.
The taste? Not bad, I quite like it. You see those flakes, those are Katsuobushi shavings, lots of them, I like it very much. I also like the diced baby octopus in there. I prefer this rather than the one that I bought last time at Jalan Song or during Kuching Festival.
You can check out their website http://www.japanboat.com.my/
Japan Boat Takoyaki actually originates from Japan. They opened their branches at Taiwan (and other part of the world), where the tauke from Sabah went and learn about the takoyaki and finally brought to Sabah to open a store. Then only, Japan Boat Takoyaki were opened at Tawau, Kuching and Singapore, that’s what I know.
Denise, thanks for sharing.
