Hoi Tin Lau

Posted on July 6, 2009 By sweet surrender 6 Comments on Hoi Tin Lau

Last Friday, Lee’s bro treated us for dinner at Hoi Tin Lau and also to brief us on what to do the next day for his wedding.

Last time Hoi Tin Lau was located at Grand Continental Hotel but now it’s located at a new place at Jalan Mendu. You know… The Dua Puluh Sen and Guardian there, there’s reflexology center too. It’s at the block behind them. Hoi Tin Lau served Chinese cuisine and it’s not halal.

I have no idea of the food name(I’ll just make it up myself) and the prices though. Just show you the photos and all I can say is the food was YUMMY! SERIOUS! It’s really DELICIOUS! I’m out of word to describe. All of them! Ok… Except the peanuts, I don’t like to eat this kind of peanuts ;p It was fully packed that night.

Left: Our appetizer. Sweet & sour midin. First time having this kind of midin. Usually we have it stir fried with belacan or garlic. This is the sweet sour variation, served cold.

Rght: Seafood noodle, it’s green, it should be green if I’m not mistaken. Under the lighting and from the photo it seems green to me but was browned by the sauce. My first time having green noodle ;p

Left: Combination dish, there were 4 types of food there. For the first time, I ate abalone(that’s what Lee told me when I asked him, I’m not sure it’s abalone or not hahaha…). Yea… My first time.

Right: Deer meat cooked with some sauce, don’t know what sauce. Very tender meat. My first time eating deer meat.

Left: Fried kailan, great dish. It’s always one of my favourite. This is my 3rd time having this dish. The one here is different from those I tried before, it had hint of sweetness because pork floss(assuming only, it could be chicken floss) was added.

Right: Butter prawn was great! I prefer this than the one from Sarawak Club. It’s sweeter but the sweetness is different from the sugary sweet. As if marshmallow was used *LOL* Not sure ;p Just judging from the sticky texture. looked as if it’s melted marshmallow. This is one of the best wet style butter prawn for me.

Two thumbs up and two toes up from me!

Just word of warning, the place is extremely noisy. Oh well… It’s like this in many Chinese restaurant anyway. If you are having a stressful day, better don’t go there hahaha…

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
