Hehehe… Craving for steamboat and I really went for a steamboat session last night. Wanted to go there on 1st day of Hari Raya but they were closed. So… Off we went to have steamboat session at Garden Steamboat last night. Heard many good reviews about it and we’re dying to try it out. It’s just next to Magenta.
Here you go… The place… Even the tablecloths are very tastefully lay out. If you have less than 4 persons, you can opt to sit at the wooden chair with square table. If more than 4, then it’s the plastic chairs with the big round table. The lighting is a bit too dim for my liking, quite hard to see what I’m eating hahaha… Mosquito coils were everywhere! Hahaha… What do you expect? It’s steamboat in a garden with lots of plants everywhere. There’s even a section with a lot of water and you can even see waterlilies in there.
Fried rice and there are 3 type of dipping sauce, chili sauce, belacan and chili+garlic+vinegar/soy sauce.
Just pick whatever you want to eat, they have vegetables section, meat & seafood section and cooked food section. The cooked food were quite tasty.
Left: Uncook fishballs, meatballs, prawns, sea cucumbers and more.
Right: They will automatically serve this plate of cooked prawns and crabs for you, free flow… It’s always served hot. I tell you… This is more worth it than eating that 2.6Kg BBQ prawn at Topspot. We ate more than 2.6Kg last night! Only RM22 per person, the prawns might not be big but it’s fresh and it’s not too small also, the crabs weren’t the normal crab we see in the market, it’s the type with white spots on its shell, quite big too. However, I don’t really like the curry powder they used, still not so bad, worth the money.
Left: Meats and butter for grilling on the hotplate. The meats were marinated and they were SALTY! The salt is free?!?!? Hahaha… There’re chicken meat, lamb, fish and more but no beef.
Right: The veggies and quail eggs.
Let’s get started! Not forgetting the sauces, the sauces are very thick, original, they don’t mix it with water like Hornbill *YUCK*. You are seeing chili sauce and belacan here.
The tinned drinks cost RM2.50 per tin, very expensive! We ordered 3 tins. The fruit juice such as orange juice can start from RM7, I saw people order it and it’s quite big glass. If you are thinking of having mineral water, the small bottle, it’s RM2.50!!! WOW! I asked for menu for the drinks but they don’t have it. I don’t think this is quite right.
By the way, if you just want the original steamboat, means with no hotplate, you can asked for it. They will be using charcoals instead of gas stove like what we are using. You can opt for tomyam or chicken soup. We picked chicken soup.
There’s actually 5% sales tax -.-” The total amount we spent for two last night was RM54.07. Well… Still cheaper thant hat stupid BBQ prawns at Topspot anyway!
wow… it seems very worth eating there oh… next time if got chance going there again, please tell me… i always wanna steamboat… but no one accompany! hehe… ;p
I won’t go there second time anymore hahahaha… Most of the place I usually go one time already. You ask your friends who want to go to accompany you hahaha…
Look nice! I always like to read your food porn.
jam, the place is nice, just the lighting a bit too dim hahaha…

can i request something, plz identify if the eateries are “HALAL” or not, n it’ll make easier for reader like me..nway, i really enjoy reading your blog! cherio!!
noa, u’re welcome. As to state whether it’s halal or not I also don’t know. As many places that I go didn’t show that it’s halal 😛 All they said “no pork served”, summore many are fake “halal” which I’m kinda in no position to say which is real and fake, I don’t want to give the wrong information later. That’s why I seldom mention anything. I will only state it if it’s really HALAL.
