Life Cafe

Posted on May 24, 2009May 24, 2009 By sweet surrender 8 Comments on Life Cafe

Life Cafe, been there 3 times if I’m not mistaken with my friend but always for lunch. I think the last time I was there was like few years back. Went there again the other night just to “emo” with my friend. *LOL* I didn’t expect the place was so packed and noisy at night. Business was really good! In fact I decided to go there because I won a glass of Jasmine Green Tea from an online mag contest, Feng Xing Magazine. Wanted to claim it, didn’t want to waste and also because My Privilege Book card has 10% discount(be sure to show the card before you make any order else they won’t accept it).

The interior. Never change. Did it change? I don’t think so. They have many books for you to read in case you want to kill your time.

Left: Make your order by filling in the form.
Right: Spring Onion Egg Pancake (RM3.50). Quite nice but I didn’t eat much coz I had eggs for dinner at home before going over.

Left: My free Jasmine Green Tea, no idea of the price coz I just realized the photo I taken of the form wasn’t complete ;p
Right: Pu Er (RM4), a type of Chinese tea.

In case you are wondering where it located, it’s located at Ewe Hai Street, just behind the temple. Oh… It’s not halal.

Dinner @ Restaurant No. 9

Posted on May 20, 2009May 22, 2009 By sweet surrender 7 Comments on Dinner @ Restaurant No. 9

Restaurant No. 9? New restaurant? At least Lee got confused for a while until I reminded him it’s Ann‘s house *LOL*

OK… If you are reading this and thinking where it’s locating and how much and so on, don’t even ask coz this is not a restaurant hahaha… There’s no such restaurant here.

Anyway, we went for dinner last Friday at Ann’s house. This decision was made when we got disappointed with the food on offer at Star Chef. We wanted western food but got none. For a change, since we heard that Jee is good in preparing steak, so why not?

Let’s see what we had:

Going to have these cook to perfection. Sizzling in the pan… *salivating*

Final product… Medium rare, it’s really tasty. Best to have it on its own rather than drenching it with all those sauces. I really don’t understand why people here like to drench their steak with sauces. Original is the best!

Don’t be fooled by the size, it looked small but it was really filling. Was so full!

Of course, we also had other food, salad and mashed potato. How are you not full with all these? We even had dinner rolls!

Last but not least, nowadays we will surely have something from Lee as our dessert whenever we have a gathering. This time he presented us with his fresh cream fruit tarts. The dragon fruit was from his own backyard. The tart was great, not sweet, sugar was reduced.

Two thumbs up for all the food we had that night and salute to both the chefs ;p We girls just sat and waited for our dinner to be served, the men did all the cooking. Cool eh?

Pizza Hut Mommy Dearest Pizza

Posted on May 18, 2009May 18, 2009 By sweet surrender 4 Comments on Pizza Hut Mommy Dearest Pizza

Went out for late dinner last weekend with my family. We went to pizza hut. This time we ordered the Mommy Dearest Pizza set because couldn’t decide what to order. There were 4 of us but we ordered meal for 2 only because we were still full and there were even two pieces of pizzas left and we had to pack it home. ;p

It came with 2 bowls of soup-of-the-day, 2 glasses of Havana Mint Fizz, Breadstix, 2 mango puddings, and a Mommy Dearest Pizza.

Left: Havana Mint Fizz that tasted like toothpaste.
Right: Breadstix, nothing to say.

Left: Mango puddings, very sweet.
Right: Hearth-shaped tasteless Mommy Dearest Pizza.

This meal cost us RM29.90(not inclusive of taxes yet). Not worth it.

Mother’s Day Dinner @ Kenny Rogers Roasters @ Boulevard

Posted on May 16, 2009June 8, 2009 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Mother’s Day Dinner @ Kenny Rogers Roasters @ Boulevard

About almost one week ago, we made a last minute decision to go out to eat. I think this is the first time we have Mother’s Day dinner for my family. Anyway, decided to go to Boulevard coz my bro wanted to buy some stationery at Popular.

My dad spotted the lamb dish few weeks back and thought of trying it, so we ended up at Kenny Rogers. Initial plan was Pizza Hut.

Many people don’t like Kenny Rogers but my dad likes it. He loves the chicken coz it’s soft and tender enough.

Let’s see what we ordered, 4 people but we ordered food for 3 coz both my dad and my bro were sick (you know… now is the season of fever, flu, cough… second case swine flu confirmed summore -.-” really have to take care, at this time of the year it seems like everyone got sick, the immune system isn’t as good as other time of the year due to the weather), they didn’t have much appetite so they shared.

Left: Beef Bolognaise Potato Jacket(RM9.90), I ordered it A-La-Carte instead of a set. The taste wasn’t too bad. According to my mom, the potato seemed not quite cooked. No idea for me, it’s OK for me though.

Right: Quarter Meal(RM16.90) came with roasted 1/4 chicken, 3 side dishes and a muffin. The side dishes we had were macaroni & cheese, mashed potato, and rice.

Left: Kenny’s Roast Lamb (RM21.90), came with potato wedges, 2 side dishes of your choice, and wedges. Something new here. So we decided to try it out. Hmmm… This dish is really not something to be enjoyed. My mom commented that eating this felt as if she just came back from a slaughtering spree. So tough -.-”

Right: Chocolate and vanilla muffins.

Left: Winter aka Sprite Float and hot tea. Forgot the prices.

Right: Hot tea.

Overall total for that night including GST and service tax was RM60+.

Kluang Station @ tHe Spring

Posted on May 14, 2009May 14, 2009 By sweet surrender 16 Comments on Kluang Station @ tHe Spring

Since the earlier post is a password protected post, means you got nothing to read today. Don’t worry, there’s still this post for you ;p

Are you wondering what’s the post is all about? Well… It’s just a letter that I have no guts to send out and cannot publish it openly here due to my reputation and also the supposed receiver’s reputation. I have no place to put it so I post it here with password. For the first time in my blogging years, I have a password protected post. I told myself before, what is the point to have a password protected post if you want to blog? I guess… I know why now.

If you want the password, I’m sorry but I won’t give it to anyone. Maybe one day when the time is right, I might release this post. Maybe I might not and let it dies with this blog. We’ll see how by then.

Anyway, back to the main topic.

It was my first time sitting inside Kluang Station, tHe Spring two Saturdays ago. I was only accompanying a friend. Didn’t order anything hehehe…

So let’s see what my friend had ordered:
Left: Cham(RM2.80), believe it, this is the first time I heard of this drink ;p if not mistaken it’s tea+coffee.
Right: Toast Bun(RM2.50), the inside is butter and kaya.

Seeing the prices on the menu, it’s pretty expensive for me but I heard the food here is good. *SHRUG*

Wonder when will I dine here? It’s not very likely though coz I don’t feel like paying such price to eat local food that I can get easily in other places with cheaper prices and also delicious too. Well… Maybe one day if I’m generous enough hahaha…

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
