Ah Long Pte Ltd

Posted on April 10, 2008April 11, 2008 By sweet surrender 8 Comments on Ah Long Pte Ltd

Very, very late update hahaha… Watched this two Sundays ago hahaha… Too many things to update and too many things to do.

The message is straight forward. You don’t have to be a genius to figure out what the movie is all about. It’s not suitable for those below 18 but it seemed like young and old are allowed to watch it, there’s no restrictions at all. The movie has many cursings, sexual elements and violents in there. Still it is able to pass the message to the viewers.

I’m sure you know many people borrow money from loan sharks aka ah long, when they can’t pay up, they are threatened and attacked. Everyone blames the loan sharks aka ah long for such act but do you ever think of it from the loan shark’s perspectives?

I know(not personally but sort of distant) and heard from people that are involved in this business complaining about their problems. Imagine there are many people that borrow ten over thousands from them, all these people didn’t want to pay back even though they can pay back after borrowing the money as their problems are solved from the borrowed money. How much the loan sharks aka ah long will lose? One person is fine but when there are many of them, how are they going to survive?

They are also the victim too. They have to find ways to get their money back, they also have family, they also need money to live, they also need to pay their “workers” money too. They borrowed it to you, you must pay them back and not escape from them. These money aren’t money that fall down from the sky for free to them, they have to “work” for it as well.

If you stick to the contract that you previously signed with them, they won’t attack you, they will treat you nicely. It’s because you treat them like shit, not obeying the contract, they also will treat you like shit.

Of course, you must make sure you can pay them back and not take it for granted. They are the one that gave you the emergency money when you needed quick money to solve your monetary problem. Personally I know many people who are able to pay the money back but become much greedier and decided that they didn’t want to pay back. It’s not easy for the loan sharks aka ah long to differenciate who really has the real problem to pay up and who doesn’t, therefore they have to take the extreme measures.

It’s not that I stand at the side of loan sharks aka ah long. That’s the fact. The same theory is applied to anyone who helped you by borrowing you money when you were desperate for it. It’s “BORROW”, means you must “PAY BACK”. If you can’t pay all, at least make the effort to pay bit by bit, NOT escape. We all know, borrow is easy, to get it back is hard. Right? Those who are owed money by people will definitely understand the agony, I’m sure you also want to take the extreme measures to make them pay up but you can’t.

I give this movie 2 thumbs up. It’s a really a great movie. This movie is worth watching. Just some funny parts which are very illogical like playing durian soccer but these scenes are the things that make the movie interesting else it would be boring and serious movie. Messages that are potrayed in light and easy ways will get better respond than using the strict hard ways.

Lesson to learn, please pay back the money that you owe. These people(your friends or anyone that had helped you with your financial problem) were kind enough to help you. Don’t take them for granted. If not for them, you wouldn’t be living to see the light now. Everyone has to play a part in making the world a better place to live.

Why do you want to dig that far?
