Madam Tang’s, Lunch With My Family

Posted on March 2, 2008 By sweet surrender 14 Comments on Madam Tang’s, Lunch With My Family

Went to lunch with my family last Sunday at Madam Tang’s at Petanak. Since my mom and bro had not been there before, we went there.

Left: I ordered their regular nasi lemak(RM3.20) because I’ve never try other food from there except their laksa. NOT NICE ONE! Who says it’s nice!?!? The worst nasi lemak I ever had. The one I had in LCCT was way better than this!
Right: Regular beef noodle(RM4.80), this one is OK, many people like it. As for me, nothing tor rave about just OK. It’s more on the sweeter note instead of salty.

Left: Their regular laksa(RM4.50), GOSH! It’s so different from what I had all these while -.-” I think they added water to it, so diluted and tasted different. They might be running low on the laksa gravy as we were there for late lunch. Ew…
Right: Coconut jelly(RM1.20), lots of sugar -.-“

OUCH! I’ve never done such bad review on Madam Tang’s before, all these while it’s either good or neutral but this time… Oh dear… What’s wrong with them?!?!?

Went to another Madam Tang’s branch at Stutong yesterday at around 1-2pm… it’s definitely different. I thought at first it’s because of different branch but surely the gravy should be the same, right?

And oh, the belacan is different too. Disappointment.

    silverisle, yealo… ngaiti…

elvawenn, don’t know what’s wrong with them… quality is going down…

allen, I have no idea where to have nice nasi lemak. Those from random stalls or from hawkers taste nicer compare to those from shops.

I would say Nasi Lemak in Kch is a little different from the West Malaysian. In Kch, best nasi lemak I would still think is the RM 1.50 a pack wrapped in banana leaves ones. THEY ARE AWESOME!
And it is me or what? The price for the food has sky rocketted! RM 4.50 for a laksa? I would expect less than that! Maybe it was expansive 5 years ago and not now? I am way way back in the history.. OMG!

Patrick, indeed, that’s what I’m trying to say, those RM1.50 nasi lemak. As for the Sarawak laksa, average price for coffee shop is RM3. There are some other places that sell RM4.50 for a bowl too besides Madam Tang’s but mostly the cheapest is RM3.

probably.. those hawkers may give better nasi lemak than those in shops.. but.. in general.. most nasi lemak served at any given mamak stalls are nice.. =P haha..

oh.. there’s one shop in miri serving very nice nasi lemak.. hehe.. but don know the name.. been there only once.

Don’t know about Kuching or Miri.. but anyone in Melbourne can go for Nasi Lemak House in Lygon.. Best nasi lemak in Melbourne for now..

*LOL* Oh yeah, those banana leaf wrapped nasi lemak. I still remember buying those from primary school canteen and eating them with my hand. And those are quite good! 😀

Jeo, indeed, those roadside mamak or stalls serve the best nasi lemak compare to shops.
