Gold Coast 24/7/2012 – Part 1

Posted on September 17, 2012January 9, 2013 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Gold Coast 24/7/2012 – Part 1

Left: We went to Gold Coast the next day.
Right: Seaworld, didn’t go there.

The buildings in Gold Coast are different. Lots of high rise buildings.

We went to Surfers Paradise for a walk.

The wind was so strong that the waves were quite big. Really scary. However, it didn’t stop people from surfing. People surf a lot in Gold Coast!

Some shops in the area.

Left: Just a random view.
Right: There’s actually Meter Maids roaming around. Can you spot the poster? Saw real ones walking around in heels and bikinis wearing Aussie Akubra hat. Very sexy! Such eye candies hahah… Who are they?

Quote from metermaids.com:

The Surfers Paradise Meter Maids were introduced in 1965 to help beat the bad image created by the installation of parking meters on the tourist strip in December 1964. This was a controversial promotion, using young women dressed in gold lame bikinis and tiaras, who strolled the streets of Surfers Paradise feeding coins into expired parking meters. Gone are the outdated tiaras, and lame bikinis replaced by the sun-conscious and true Aussie Akubra hat ideal for our tropical climate and Gold Lycra Bikinis with the occasional sequin. But even after almost 4 decades that special Meter Maid quality still remains…

More to come. Even though I’m done with exam but still busy because I’m enjoying my long-awaited holiday 😉

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
