We went to UCSI yesterday afternoon to learn about table setting. This is one of the activities of tHe Spring Ambassador Hunt. Not all of us could make it as it’s working hour so those working were allowed to skip this.
We were briefed by Mr. Dicky and some of the faculty students about table setting. It was really fun and interesting. Now I know how to do all these! WEE! If I need to prepare a romantic dinner for my darling next time, I know how to do it hahaha…
There were 4 parts.
First part was setting up the table centerpiece. Just like wrapping present don’t you think?
Left: Here’s my group’s table. Didn’t know a table centerpiece can be done this way. Nice or not?
Right: We were split into 3 groups, each group with 3 people.
Second part was setting up the table.
Left: The demo table.
Right: Our table!
Third part was folding the napkin.
Left: We made the fans with the napkins for our table.
Right: The rest made candles with the napkins.
Forth part was opening the wine/champagne bottle and how to pour it into the glass.
It’s not easy, the bottle was so heavy.
Left: Finally we filled up our glasses with sparking juice.
Right: Pour… Pour… Pour… I was so afraid that the whole bottle would tip over due to my small hand. Only one hand was used but I ended up using another hand to support the upper part of the bottle just in case. That’s obviously not my hand ;p
After that, we’re done!
We took our time sitting down, sipping the sparkling juice, eating the pudding and catching up with each other before we called it a day. One interesting experience and new knowledge gained.
p/s: ignore the typo in the images ;p
That is one valuable and interesting knowledge..and very nice table setting..very romantic…;)
caroline, yes… the setting is so nice, didn’t know a long piece of clothes can even be a centerpiece. Very interesting.
