So… It’s the time now… Every party is busy campaigning and trying to outdo and outwit each other. Who will win? Who should win? I’m sure you have your already made a decision. Some might change their decision last minute or along the way, some might just turn up and vote for no one meaning making a void vote. Whatever, that’s your choice.
We’ll be seeing lots of flags, banners and billboards setting up around town and even SMSes, e-mails and letters will be circulating around, be it the fact or misleading information, you’ll see for yourself until 7th March 2008.
The general election will be on 8th March 2008. Are you a voter? Cast your vote as your vote is important, it doesn’t matter which party you are supporting or you don’t support any, just turn up and cast your vote, be it valid or void, just make sure that your name is recorded and you’ve done your duty. The outcome will determine your future, do you still want to stay in the same position just like you are now? This 4-5 years, what did you get from DAP? Something to pondor upon.
Did you know that you cannot use nail polish when you go to vote? This is because they are implementing a new way to ensure that those who had voted won’t vote again due to an allegation in one of the previous elections where people voted and voted again with another person’s name. Still I don’t understand how the ink works after reading from the newspapers. We’ll see by then. If you come with nail polish, I’m not so sure how they will deal with you. Wanna try? Hahaha…
I’m going to close this comment because I am not that free to argue with you or filter out some unwanted comments. It’s just my observations and my thoughts, I don’t need you to contribute, save yourself the trouble. I know majority of you won’t agree with me. If you even try to argue with me using e-mail, rest assure that I would just delete it. Or if you try to reach me tru’ MSN about this issue, save your time and trouble also, I won’t be entertaining any. If you try to leave comments in other post about it, I’ll delete it. Thank you very much. I know you will hate me even more hahaha… You want to say that I’m a coward or whatever, I also don’t mind. Each constituancy has their own unique issues, I know there are also issues that are shared by every constituency in this country which I’ll just let other people do their own arguements.
I’m sure we’ve been complaining about business/economy is bad these days, complaining about the increase of inflation, complaining about not having pay raise or salary not enough, you know… All related to money… Why? It’s worst during these 4-5 years, this is the time people around my age coming out to contribute to the society and we had to suffer from the previous voting result. This 4-5 years, we don’t have much allocation from the federal government if compare to 5 years ago. You can said that our state is allocated with lots of money but you have to know that those money were later allocated to those winning constituency and none or less to Bandar Kuching.
Why is the allocation so important? Big money means big projects. Fine! You said all those money went into you-know-who own pocket but you have to know that who doesn’t do that anywhere in the world?!?!? If you are in his position, I’m sure you will do it too except maybe take less if you know what I mean instead of monopolised everything. However, the longer you are up there, the more greedy you are, that’s human nature. There is no way you can kick him down, you know, I know. It’s not that I agree with corruptions but we all have eyes and ears to see and hear. What else can be done? The awareness is not enough, it would take another century or so for it. Still… At least there are still money circulating around. At least when the money goes out, there are money coming in. The major problem now is money out, no money in!!! It’s not good for business! Common sense! Just because you don’t like him, you make yourself suffer. He won’t care a damn about you not supporting him, he still gets the money, just don’t or allocate less to us, summore he’s not belong to our constituency.
When big projects(white elephants) are assigned, local businessmen get the share for doing it. Even though he assign it to his “own” companies, still local businessmen get the share. I’m sure those who are involved in government projects will know what I’m trying to say. This 4-5 years, business isn’t good because there’s not enough white elephants(as some people like to put it) going on. Due to this, the impact is huge, the chain reaction that makes us all complain about not having enough money and the increasing crimes in Kuching.
When businessmen get less big money projects, they earn less, their workers don’t get as much pay hike as they want or didn’t even get any or even get retrenched to cut cost. There won’t be extra job opportunities and many are unemployed. Stingy boss will get even more stingier. When this happened, people won’t be spending a lot because everyone is trying to save and becareful with their spendings. When less people is spending, businesses will suffer. When the businesses suffer, same things happen again… They had to cut cost on various aspects. Hence the chain reaction.
When people don’t have enough money, no work, crime will increase. That’s why there are lots of snatchings, robberies, and thieves these few years. If you do observe, it’s been rocketing in this 4-5 years time! Then, there’s complain about rocketing inflation. It’s a global issue, it will always be increasing and you won’t be able to control it but because we don’t earn that much, we feel the pinch. If all of us have the money, you won’t feel it at all. Summore, it doesn’t matter who wins, the fuel price will definitely increase no matter what after the election. You might want to shout on top of your lung to voice your dissatisfactions but you won’t get it to go down unless the global price of fuel goes down for good but it’s not.
All because of money! Money might not be everything, it’s also the source of all evils but at the end only money can make things go around. We are lacking of money now, we need the money. The opposition cannot give us those money. They can hear you, help you solve petty issues, they can help jolt the government to keep on track but when it comes to money they don’t have it. If you are actively involved in association activities especially those Chinese associations, I’m sure you feel the pinch also as you are lack of fund from the government to execute your activities.
Since there is no way to make oil prices and inflation or living standard goes down, you can only make more money. When there is no money, you cannot do anything but suffer from all these. When you can’t get something one way, you have to be smart and find the loop holes, find the alternative ways to make it available to you instead of complaining or lashing your anger that won’t make you go anywhere.
That’s all I can say. Again, please don’t tell me that KL still get to develop even though the opposition won(as many people made this statement to me before). That’s a whole different story because KL and Kuching is different. The situation and status are different! Then again, I won’t be able to hear you say this as like I said I’m not opening up the comment, not entertaining any form of responses from you regarding this.
That’s all for the time being. I’m talking rubbish? Oh well… Like it or not… It’s my blog. At the end it’s your own choice to either improve your current financial situation or stay the same, get poorer each day and suffer. I don’t want the later, thank you very much.
